Raw beef, pork and goat meat sold in California has been targeted in a national recall after not being properly inspected, federal officials said.

Star Meat Delivery Inc., located in Lucama, N.C., is recalling more than 165,000 pounds of raw meats that were sold nationally, the agency said.

The products, produced before Sept. 22, were vacuum-sealed and packed into cardboard boxes for shipment, the USDA said.

They include ground pork, chorizo, pork chops, pork ribs and feet, beef ribs and oxtail, goat cuts and other meat items.

Products naked “EST. 1363” from the company should be considered mislabeled and unsafe to eat, the agency said.

The recalled products were shipped A&D Foods, a distributor in Georgia, for further distribution to retail and restaurant locations nationwide under the A&D Foods label.

The USDA classified the recall as Class I, its most serious designation.

“Food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk,” the agency said in the release.

Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled products. Retailers and restaurants should not sell or serve them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
